How long will the project take to complete?
Most remodeling and cabinet projects take between 4 to 7 weeks, though the time required depends upon how extensive a renovation you want.

Does it make financial sense to renovate my kitchen?
A recent report issued by Remodeling Magazine stated that the Bay Area homeowners recouped nearly 110 percent of their kitchen-remodeling investment. So, a few weeks’ worth of work done in your home can be a small price to pay — especially if you’re anticipating the sale of your home.

That’s a lot faster than your competition. How can you do it so quickly?
Because SK&B doesn’t start installation until after we have everything to do the job. By knowing how long it takes to get supplies from manufacturers and how much time is necessary to make your cabinets in our in-house shop, we can set a firm start date that we have worked out with you. We guarantee our completion date.

That sounds good on paper, but what if you miss your completion date?

How much of the work do Sterling Kitchens & Bath employees actually perform?
Our fully integrated Sterling Kitchens staff consists of design consultants, interior designers, engineers, project managers and finish craftspeople who will personally perform virtually every aspect of your project. In some cases, such as when a stonemason’s or drywaller’s talents are called for, we will use a subcontractor who will be directly supervised by SDKB staff. Any subcontract work is fully covered by your SDKB warranty.

How long will I be without a kitchen during those 3 to 6 weeks?
If you hire SK&B to remodel your kitchen, we provide you with one of our free, Portable Kitchens, which has a sink, fresh water, and cooking appliances.

Can I get help designing my renovation project?
Our design consultants are available to you, free, on every SK&B project. They’ll be able to show you many of samples in our showroom. If you opt to work with a different contractor, our designers’ services are available for a fee depending on the sope of your remodel.

I’m going to need advice selecting a countertop. Can you help me with that?
Absolutely. You’ll be able to choose from many countertop samples in our San Jose showroom. We offer granite, tile, laminate and Corian® in thousands of styles and colors.

What if I need an engineer for my project?
We have engineers on staff to consult on any projects requiring their expertise.
